What do we do?

Carambola Digital is a digital design studio. Our most common work is to build websites, but we build corporative presentations, technical manuals for electronic media, intranet projects, cultural projects in digital media, etc. If you really want to get a grip of our work, it would be better to visit our portfolio or our services page. We are now (2010 january) opening our doors to english speaking clients.

Who are our clients?

Carambola Digital is a small design company and we don't want to grow too much. We don't have big multinational clients with gigantic projects as clients. Our niche is that of small businesses (architecture, lawyers, medical offices) and cultural producers professionals (cultural agencies, artists, photographers etc). That's what we have made the last years and that's where we wanna be! :)

If you are curious, take a look at our portfolio to see what we have been doing.

How is the process?

The process varies a little bit depending on what is exactly the job but we don't want to leave you with a curious impression, so we'll give you an example of the stages of the project in the case of an architecture office website.

  1. We stablish a script, defining the content and the main areas of the website.
  2. We present you a final script, and a budget for the job
  3. We present an interface and navigation design solution
  4. We build your website and put it online
  5. Eventually we can update you website

If you want a more detailed description, please, visit our page about the process.

What resources can I use?

Again, the resources may vary a bit according to the project. I'm going to use the example I used before, a case of an architecture office website.

If you arrive to the conclusion that you want to update the website at your will, without the help of any designer, we can build a CMS for you, a Content Management System. You can find that you need a glossary about construction systems available in the website. In that case, we'd use a wiki. Or, at some point, maybe you want to open the website content to comments, so we would use a blog or a forum. Well, you can see that, in the end, it all comes from your idea of the type of relation that you want to build with your clients and workers. For each type of relation we can put a different resource to work. We have a full list of services that we can provide at the services page.
